The P.E.I. RumRunners, comprised mainly of “misplaced Islanders”, started a men’s hockey team in Calgary in 1978. In 2006, the group decided to expand their annual spring team golf day, to see if they could raise some funds for a Child Charity. It started out with a modest goal of $5,000, but after raising $40,000 the very first year they haven’t looked back, as they hit $1M raised by year 10 & $1.7M raised after their 16th Annual Event! All funds raised have been evenly split between Alberta & P.E.I. Child Charities!
